your workaround is wrong. the online docs make it clear that you cannot expect having stdc++.h on the compiler search path, the docs talk about explicitly using the file:
"g++ -Winvalid-pch -x c++-header -g -O2 -o ./stdc++.h.gch /mnt/share/bld/H-x86-gcc.20071201/include/c++/4.3.0/x86_64-unknown- linux-gnu/bits/stdc++.h" ** Changed in: gcc-4.6 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1023401 Title: gcc-4.6.3 's c++ command cannot locate "stdc++.h" in standard include path To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gcc-4.6/+bug/1023401/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
