I use Kubuntu 12.04.1LTS, this implies Ubuntu12.04.1. xserver-xorg-input-synaptics version is 1.6.2-1ubuntu1~precise1. I confirm the bug. The trigger is hibernation/sleep for me. problem is reproducible. Bug freezes pointer. scroll, left & right button works. Only pointer doesn't move. If I connect an external mouse, it is functional. I tried moving pointer to all corners and tried to use synaptic touch pad, but result is same. It freezes mouse pointer. Relogin/reboot restores the functionality.
