I downloaded a copy of 12.10 Alpha 3, made a boot disk and ran the live CD. With just the DisplayPort connection, the monitor displayed the bios, then the low res screen with the keyboard icon at the bottom, then the screen went blank and the monitor turned off. I eventually heard the bongo drum sound where one chooses between the install and run the live CD, but the srceen never turned back on.
I tried again with my Dual Link DVI and HDMI connections, this worked, and I was able to set up the display properly.
