Okay, unfortunately it sounds like this is combining multiple bugs into a single bug report, but let's try to separate them out.
A. Mis-detection of resolution during installation. This sounds like bug 3731. I will do additional research into this. B. X crashes when changing resolution with xrandr. This sounds like bug 91591, however that one was with the VESA driver. I found a report of xrandr causing X to crash on 915GM using -i810 at http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xorg/2006-June/016518.html, however I'm unsure that's related to this. Can you please collect a backtrace of the X crash after attempting to change the resolution with xrandr? C. xrander gives error message "X Error of failed request..." I think I have enough information to report this one upstream, which I'll do tomorrow. -- Incorrect Rotation result on Screen Resolution with Crestline on Santa Rosa https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/119961 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
