I just verified this issue on the following release / irssi version: Ubuntu 6.06.1 - irssi 0.8.10-1ubuntu1
The pasted text will show up locally but not get through to the other side. ie; it will cut off for the other channel members at nearly 450 (448), but display the full pasted content locally. Is this an irssi issue or an irc limitation itself. Have you tried this in other clients?
