This is not a bug, this never was a feature of aMSN and isn't a feature of the official client either. The /nick command is specific to IRC and not MSN and I see no reason for this bug to be open. I do agree though that it's a nice idea and that it could be made into a plugin (if it's not already supported by the amsnplus plugin).
