This is hard to reproduce, but it happened 2 or 3 times.
I locked my screen before leaving from work. When I returned to my desk
the next day, the screen was dark, with just the mouse cursor visible.
By the way the cursor shape changes when I move it around, I can tell
that gnome-screensaver-lock is still running. I do not have any
The desktop can be recovered by logging into a text console, killing -9
compiz and then restarting it with "unity --replace".
In one occasion, I had unity already running from the text console, so I
could capture the following output on stderr:
