Well, this bug (or whatever you call this) is out for so long and the held back packages started to effect other ones. So, I decided to change my authentication method from "auxprop" to "rimap". I did this because, I couldn't risk changing from courier to devocot like mentioned in other posts. And since I got a working imap authentication, I asked, why not?
So, basically, what i did is, 1- I stopped holding sasl2 packages which are at version 2.1.23, 2- Upgraded to latest packages for sasl2 in Ubuntu 12.04 (This OS has been upgraded from 9.04->9.10->10.04->12.04), 3- Configured new sasl2 to work with "rimap" (search for "rimap configuration" in google to tune configuration for your own machine) 4- Restarded saslauthd daemon and postfix service. 5- Enjoyed sending e-mail with the latest packages installed... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/875440 Title: Cannot authenticate with saslauthd and mysql To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cyrus-sasl2/+bug/875440/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
