Public bug reported: Whenever an open-file dialog appears, it presents all files, including hidden. The setting Show hidden files in the preferences of Nautilus is OFF. Of course I can always click Ctrl+H or right-click and disable showing hidden files. But it's annoying!
The general setting should apply to all dialogs: if its OFF then all dialogs should hide hidden files. The problem was discussed: http://askubuntu.com/questions/109571/open-file-dialog-defaults-to-showing-hidden-files and http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1131710 The Ctrl+H solution is not a solution, its only a workaround... ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: dialog hidden nautilus -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1039014 Title: Hidden files always visible in open file dialog To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1039014/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
