Public bug reported: Background: - I am behind a proxy with everything set up properly in network settings - Everytime there is a flashplugin update it fails to atomatically install through the update manager (separate bug *) - I manually install/update it by running "sudo apt-get remove flashplugin-installer && sudo apt-get install flashplugin-installer" which works fine
Bug description: Even after having installed it manually an update notifier window pops up on each restart telling me it did not install properly. clicking "run this action now" opens a terminal window which gets stuck at "flashplugin-installer: downloading http://archive.canonical.com/pool/partner/a/adobe-flashplugin/adobe-flashplugin_11.2.202.238.orig.tar.gz"; it also does not stop the window from poping back up on next boot. *= Though I am not sure which, there are several related bugs, some of which are fixed: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/flashplugin-nonfree/+bug/615786 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/556293 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sudo/+bug/982684 I found none that is specific about update manager, should I file a new one?
