I tested Desgualdo's script with no success, maybe due to my lack of knowledge. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 with GNOME (3) Classic (Fallback) mode. Unfortunately I can't find /etc/gdm/Xsession nor ~/.profile or ~/.xsessionrc. I wonder how to apply your approach to my system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
