I also experienced this problem. Solved it using "boot-repair" tool
downloadable from the internet. The author of the boot-repair tool has
alot of knowledge about boot problems also regarding UEFI i think, maybe
his knowledge can be used to make for a good dual boot experience using
older hardware and newer UEFI hardware?
