Hello, Actually my laptop did hard froze, like it did a few times the last months (no keyboard, no tty, something like that https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video- intel/+bug/993187). From what I know about computers, it maybe related to a low-level driver corrupting the memory. But also possibly messing up with the sound drivers.
Actually, just after my last froze, I had to hard-reboot the computer [and I lost a file while programming with intellij :(]. After the reboot, the sound was working again!! So now I'm in the "sound is working weeks"... I may also add that I frequently use two computers (An Asus and a System76) with the very same system installed, and only the Asus is having this problem (yet). But both are having these "hard freeze". I don't know the options that you have, but feel free to put it in a "wait for some information", I'll bookmark it and come back when it stop working again.
