Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.20
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FingerprintAuthentication With the upcoming release of the GPL driver for the Authentec fingerprint reader, it would be nice if we could get Ubuntu to respond to scanning fingerprints and, when no security process is in operation, interpret them as though the user were sliding their finger over a scroll wheel, as per the Windows implementation of the software. This is particularly useful for various "Tablet convertible" laptops, which have a limited number of inputs available in Tablet mode. The fingerprint reader is one of these inputs, and in the case of the Fujitsu P1510D, the fingerprint reader has been placed right next to the edge of the laptop screen so that the laptop can be held in one hand and the pages be scrolled with the thumb on the fingerprint reader. (Which is great for use when standing on the train) ** Affects: linux-source-2.6.20 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Fingerprint reader as scroll wheel https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121967 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
