Public bug reported:

When I try to embed a pdf file, as an embedded document in libreoffice
writer, it tries to import the pdf file as a text file, instead of just
displaying a pdf icon that I can click to open.

To reproduce the bug,
1- start libreoffice writer 3
2- select from the menu "Insert>Object>OLE Object..."
3- select the "Create from file" radio button
4- click the "Search..." button
5- select any pdf or other non plaintext, non libreoffice compatible, or binary
document
6- click the "OK" button

Expected behaviour : an icon representing your document should be
inserted. Clicking on the icon should open the document using the
appropriate program.

Observed behaviour : an "ASCII Filter Options" dialog is displayed.
Clicking OK in that dialog will insert a frame containing the text from
the pdf file (as if you just cat the pdf file).

I am using Ubuntu linux v12.04 and libreoffice v3.5.4.2, but I think the
bug has always existed, as I had the same problem before with
openoffice.

** Affects: df-libreoffice
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New

** Package changed: linux (Ubuntu) => df-libreoffice
