I've just tried what you tell Ming and it seems I didn't do the things perfectly.
First I disabled lightdm, and not gdm: ok After a reboot, once loged on my pc on the tty1, I try the command: sudo echo 9 > /proc/sys/kernel/printk Here is the problem, it answers me: bash: /proc/sys/kernel/printk: Permission non accordée (not allowed) I however tried a reboot and I attach the two syslog files I found in the folder /var/log/ to this message. Maybe useless, I don't know cause I don't understand everything I did. ** Attachment added: "syslog.tar.gz" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/993610/+attachment/3251531/+files/syslog.tar.gz -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993610 Title: [Dell Latitude 5520] System locks up when trying to reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/993610/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
