** Description changed: After upgrading just the kernel from Ubuntu 12.04 to Quantal (linux- image-3.5.0-5-generic 3.5.0-5.5) the external monitor connected to the docking station is not detected either automatically or when I click Displays | Detect Displays. Computer is the ThinkPad X220 with Intel HD Graphics 3000 in ThinkPad Mini Dock Series 3. Monitor is the Samsung SyncMaster 223BW connected via DVI port on the Mini Dock. Looking in /var/log/Xorg.* I see big differences.
