I can confirm that. Same problem with feisty, i386 and gedit 2.18.1-0ubuntu1
I think the reason is http://www.gnome.org/learn/access- guide/2.14/keynav-11.html (To Navigate Paned Windows). But actually I don't know how to fix it.
