Public bug reported:
Nm-applet doesn't show any connection on startup, only options to
enable/disable wireless/cabled network functionality, get connection
infos and edit connection options, altough it is able to connect to
default wireless; kinda bug #827884 replied on Ubuntu Quantal x86.
