After I start xchat-gnome, I get the "xchat_command called without a valid contex" error when I click on the notification tray icon to hide the application window.
However, as soon as someone sends a message in one of the channels I'm connected to, the notification tray icon starts behaving properly. To me, it appears that when the notification icon is loaded into the tray, it is not "really" loaded and running until something happens in one of the channels. The preferred behavior would be for the icon to be fully functional right from the start when the Notification preference is set to "Always display notification icon".
