Public bug reported:

1. Disable the global appmenu by removing the indicator-appmenu package.
2. Tap the Alt key to bring up the HUD

HUD says "Error: HUD service not connected".

Expected behaviour:

1. If the HUD is non-functional, it should not grab the Alt key.
2. In principle, the HUD could be supported even if the global appmenu was
disabled.

Hopefully this will be fixed by bug #682788 "Improve Unity menus" in
12.10. (There will be a less brute-force / more officially-supported
method to disable the global appmenu, so it should avoid breaking the
HUD).
