melchiaros, I agree with you at face value in that a newer version of 
LibreOffice should be available. As well, my position goes even further than 
yours in that I think the newest version should be available across all 
supported releases. However, I have long come to appreciate the wisdom of the 
Ubuntu process. It trumps our strong preference, by stemming regressions and 
feature creep, despite the top, most trusted developers in the world working on 
the best FOSS office suite ever.
So, putting subjectivity aside, providing links for the bug release notes is 
not in itself strong justification to perform the desired action. For example, 
very nasty regressions were introduced in the 3.4.x branch that prevented a 
good deal in the community from opening up password protected files. This 
regression was not discussed in the release notes, but discovered by the Ubuntu 
community after release.
In order for this request to move forward, it would be best to discuss the 
specific bug(s) and/or feature(s) in the desired release that directly impacts 
your workflow. As well, full regression testing would need to occur.
If one has a need for a newer LibreOffice than that available in the repos, one 
may test the LibreOffice PPA -> https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ppa 
. If this serves your needs better than that available in the repos, please 
document it here in full technical detail.
