Hi Joseph, thanks for your replies. I will gladly test the latest kernel at the end of this week. I'm upgrading to an ssd drive and I will clean install both OSs on my laptop- Ubuntu 12.04 studio and Win7.
By the way, the internal microphone is not working on my laptop no matter what I do. I even uninstalled pulse and installed alsa but still without a working mic.
