Yes, I agree that a revert isn't really suitable for a SRU (I wouldn't
even ask the SRU team...). However, I think a new snapshot isn't either
(the diff between current quantal and 2.9.3 is huge!).

And I have to say that when there's no release schedule, or when you're
not confident it will be out on time, or when you've no contact with
upstream, you don't include a development snapshot in a distribution...
(for example, this is the reason why we chose to keep Xfce 4.8 in
precise, because at feature freeze time, the 4.10 schedule was still a
bit uncertain :). Especially since SRU requirements are more and more
strict. Which means users are stuck with an unstable version, and they
are frustrated, and upstream developers rightfully get mad at Ubuntu.
