I'm having a problem with installs from the non-pae ISO (thanks David
and Luiz): on a clean install the symlink for /etc/resolv.conf is not
created. This results in DNS lookup problems (in my case systems in the
local private domain were not resolved) and is probably the issue
reported as Bug #1000244. I am reporting it here because the non-pae ISO
is not an official ISO.

The work-around/fix is to run dpkg-reconfigure resolvconf and allow it
to create the necessary links.
