I had this problem again and found an error ("intel_do_flush_locked failed: No space left on device") in the .xsession-errors log file that gave me enough info to locate the following bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/977804 There is a work around suggestion on that bug that says to CTRL+ALT+F1, then execute "unity --reset". That seems to have allowed me to continue my session. It doesn't solve the issue, but it mitigates the need for a reboot. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/987034 Title: Unity Dash freezes Xorg when opened over chrome To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/987034/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
