This is still a problem in USC 5.2.4. It is a bug that looks like it could really easily be fixed. I really have no idea, of course, but most lambda users using the USC would think that this shouldn't be a problem any more in modern apps. It basically makes the Ubuntu Software Centre look cheap and not mature at all.
** Description changed: While browsing applications in Ubuntu Software Center, you can click on screenshots to see previews in better quality. However, this functionality is limited and works properly only when showing small images. If there is a big screenshot, let's say about 1000px wide, then it is overflowing and you must scroll. I propose to adjust a screenshot to fit a screen, so a full image would be possible to see at once. For a better visual experience, it should be shown within the main software-center window. Also, it should be possible to zoom the image, so you can see the details too. + HOW TO REPRODUCE: + A good example of this bug is the game Bastion: search for "Bastion" in the USC, click "More info" and open one of the screenshots. + ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: software-center 5.2.1 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/995129 Title: big screenshots in software-center overflow and it is difficult to scroll in them To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-center/+bug/995129/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
