I have not had any work units end with errors since upgrading to the 7.0.27 build in that PPA the evening of the 27th... so that's 5 straight days (24/7) of crunching with out error. [insert superstitious ritual here]
Therefore, in my opinion, the subject bug appears to be fixed, for the Charmm application, in the 7.0.27 build that is currently in the http://ppa.launchpad.net/pkg-boinc/testing/ubuntu PPA.
