Hello, I'm posting because I've just successfully set up my PS Eye
camera in Ubuntu 12.04, 64-bit.

Sound does still not work out of the box but it's very easy to set up. I
didn't need to install anything!

Here's the instructions, but check my very slight edit below:

Only change I'd make is that you need to check the device number before
running either of those commands. How to do this is in the guide under
"How can I know what to pass as an argument to device?" and just
involves reading the file "/proc/asound/cards".

Very simple, and this was a beautiful webcam for £4 :D
