One month later the bug is still annoying me!
Dash does not even launch files out of directories where there is a special 
character in the directories name or in the name of one of the upper 
directories. If this is not important enough to work on it maybe someone can 
give me a hint about what I could do

** Description changed:

  I started with 11.10, Dash found and started files with filenames with
  German special characters. This changed after the last Unity update.
  Dash still finds the files but refuses to start them
