As per https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds?action=show&redirect=KernelMainlineBuilds#Installing_Mainline_Kernels you must download 3 files. If you only downloaded 2, then that was the problem. You would want to uninstall the two files you installed via provided article, reinstall the 3 via the article instructions, and then try the test again.
