No, the system defaults to Unity 3d and happily deals with 3D stuff in the live cd. I can't reproduce the tearing in either Unity 2D or Unity 3D. However, when I choose Install Ubuntu (which provides a very simple session), I am able to reproduce the tearing in any Webkit webview. The slideshow is the most obvious example, but you can also open Yelp (the help viewer) and you will see the same tearing in there if you scroll or trigger any animation. I feel like you might be seeing two bugs at once here :) I have definitely seen / heard about this one on lots of different machines, but the problem seems to be limited to Webkit — while your other bug report mentions tearing in lots of other places, too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/987941 Title: Ubuntu Installer Slideshow - Severe tearing when changing slides To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu/+bug/987941/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
