Public bug reported:

Error was reported during an "aptitude full-upgrade" of an installation
of Ubuntu 12.10 in VirtualBox (host is Ubuntu 12.04).

It may have to do with the fact that this afternoon VirtualBox was upgraded to
release 4.1.18.
However, not sure about this.
