Hi Kamal,

I know you said "no change" reports aren't needed, and indeed I see no
change in behavior over the stock 12.04 kernel with the above PPA.

However, I had been using your previous PPA for 11.04 for quite some
time successfully, and I definitely DID see a change in behavior from
the stock 11.04 kernel with the kernels from that PPA, so I thought this
an interesting enough regression to be worth mentioning.

The symptoms that I have experienced with stock kernels (under both
11.04 and 12.04) is:

 - With no kernel parameters, system boots with backlight off, and
brightness keys don't work.

 - With "acpi_backlight=vendor", symptoms are the same.

 - With "acpi_osi=Linux", system boots with backlight off, but the
brightness keys work, so the backlight can easily be turned on and
controlled, however the controls are inverted (I suspect this is why the
system boots with the backlight off, since the kernel is trying to
initialize it at full brightness.) I have been using this as a
workaround.

With your 11.04 series of kernels:

- With no kernel parameters, system boots normally with backlight on,
however brightness controls are inverted.

With your 12.04 series of kernels:

- Behavior is identical to stock kernel.

The effected system is an eMachines E725 notebook, lspci output relevant
to the video card follows. Please let me know if I can provide anything
else that would be helpful in fixing this.
