This bug is so frustrating. I really don't want to switch distro's since it's such a headache installing all my software and configuring everything. Yet every time Ubuntu upgrades their nvidia drivers or does anything that touches X my computer becomes unbootable and I have to install the v. 302.11 beta drivers again. (After going through the very non-user friendly twice repeated Grub recovery menu.)
I still get this behavior even after running the command echo "nvidia-current hold" | sudo dpkg --set-selections mentioned above for locking out the driver, and even though I have uninstalled compiz, since that causes an immediate crash. Basically compiz no longer works for my gtx 280 card and for now I've given up hope that it ever will. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/982485 Title: [regression] Nvidia 295.40: Unity 3D does not work at all with the new nvidia driver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia-drivers-ubuntu/+bug/982485/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
