Public bug reported: I had installed xubuntu 12.04 on my Thinkpad T43, but was not happy with it, so I decided to install unbuntu 11.10 instead (I had it previously on this system, although an older HDD). At the very beginning of the install, after choosing to install over 12.04, the installer put up a dialog informing me that it crashed, and prompted me to submit this bug report.
TL;DR; Tried to install Ubuntu 11.10 over Xubuntu 12.04. Installer crashed after asking me what I wanted to do (I chose option 1, overwrite existing version).
