FWIW I never close the lid to activate suspend, but I still see this bug regularly. I suspend either through timing out, or through a keyboard shortcut bound to: dbus-send --print-reply --system --dest=org.freedesktop.UPower /org/freedesktop/UPower org.freedesktop.UPower.Suspend
