I fixed it by changing the model used by alsa. I don't use the microphone, so I haven't tested if it is affected by changing the model.
Could you try to add (without quotes) "options snd-hda-intel model=z71v position_fix=1" at the bottom of the file alsa-base.conf. Use the command sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/also-base.conf in the terminal. Afterwards restart ubuntu. Your headphones should be working again. Could you check whether the other ports (line-in, internal microphone) also continue to work properly? What about the external microphone? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/996520 Title: [A6VM, Realtek ALC880, Green Headphone Out, Rear] No sound at all To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/996520/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
