I can confirm that the fixes from revision 225 resolve the issues with the combination of Compiz and GNOME Classic. (For a desktop deployment, I created a session type that has GNOME Classic as the base, and Compiz running on top of it.) Now, it's just a matter of waiting for the Ubuntu Artwork Packagers to create a new package...
