I would like to add that it this hasn't happened once since I switched to Unity 2D last week (see #18).
I agree with those who find it remarkable that the Ubuntu developers with their usually prompt bugfixes can leave a bug like this unassigned for this long. It must affect thousands of people since it must be a pretty small percantage who bother to post a bug report.
