Public bug reported:

I recently upgraded from 10.10 to 12.04 when cups-pdf was perfect now
it's useless because of this. All the text printed to PDF is embedded as
an image, as hence the text cannot be copied and it's like having a
piece of paper.

Printing was done from both Firefox and Chromium.

Also printing takes longer an ghostscript gs process hits 100% cpu, this
never happened with cups pdf in 10.10.
