There are multiple things going on in this bug report. Sadly, I've been mixing them up and confusing people. Let me list the issues:
1. In Precise, the Acer W500 touchscreen works, but gestures would hang the X server. This is the original bug report. It should be fixed now with the latest xorg-server updates. 2. In comment #13, isi cannot get multitouch working with his Dell ST220T hardware. This is a separate issue. It can be tracked in a separate bug #736752. When I last came to this bug, I thought it was for enabling this hardware, and thus I moved the status to triaged and wish list importance. That was incorrect. Since the second issue is handled elsewhere and the first issue should be fixed, I am closing this bug as fix released. Please reopen only if you can reproduce the issue noted in the original bug report in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. ** Changed in: utouch (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Fix Released ** Changed in: utouch (Ubuntu) Importance: Wishlist => High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/801988 Title: [Acer W500] multitouch doesn't work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/utouch/+bug/801988/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
