Anyone experiencing this bug, could you please try to use https://launchpad.net/~ubuntuone/+archive/nightlies/+files/ubuntuone- installer_3.1%2Br26-16%7Eprecise1_all.deb and post your results here? It should tell you what error you are hitting exactly, and will allow you to retry after fixing it (eg, in case network is down and you need to reconnect). Outside of disabling the network and deleting files from the apt cache, I am unable to reproduce any errors that would result in this problem, myself. This package should hopefully fix the problem for everyone. Thanks.
