So, this bug report is pretty old and nobody bothered to forward it
upstream. JFFR, bugs should be reported at http://bugs.i3wm.org/
Anyway, i3status nowadays doesn’t just exit when it can’t read the
temperature, instead it displays an appropriate message.

If on your system the path is different, you can change that by using
the "path" option in the "cpu_temperature" block, as described in the
manpage i3status(1). In case your system doesn’t have a thermal_zone in
/sys/class, i3status doesn’t support it.

IMO, this bug can be closed, but I don’t know how :)
