I didn't find any kernel packages in http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/v3.4-rc7-precise/, but did in (apparently newer) http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.4-precise/, so I've installed linux-image-3.4.0-030400-generic- pae_3.4.0-030400.201205210521_i386.deb along with header packages. This installation fails dkms initiated rebuild of nvidia driver. Ignoring that (for the moment) and proceeding ... after reboot the system comes up with working mouse in docking station (yeah!) but with severly downgraded videa support. After several problematic attempts to update nvidia drivers from ubuntu repos (related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics- drivers/+bug/993506) I ended up downloading latest driver (NVIDIA- Linux-x86-295.53) from nvidia site which built and installed correctly (but only after installing gcc-4.4 ... sigh). With this driver installed the video support is restored, *but the mouse problem returns*.
