[SOLUTION / WORK-AROUND] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/385076 Message #6
I found that similar worked for me - At terminal, I ran 'alsamixer'. The Via VT1705 showed by default. At the interface I cursored over to make 'front' highlight in red then pressed 'm' as indicated in the other bug report. The sound control GUI in 'system-settings' , when run simultaneously for testing, interacted with alsamixer immediately. Cards confusingly showed as toggling on and off. Ended up doing this all a few times. NOT tweaking 'Master' in the terminal UI seemed to be the final trick. Hours of messing about to get finally here .... But it works for now. ~ -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/985145 Title: no audio on ubuntu 12.04 on an intel hda vt1705 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/985145/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
