Martin,
I tried viewing a presentation after enabling "Desktop Effects" in Gnome
on Ubuntu 7.04 which uses compiz and it worked fine for me. Can you try
with an up to date version of Ubuntu 7.04 and see if you can still
reproduce the problem? If so what video driver are you using?
