You can determine a windowid by running the program xwininfo (from the 
x11-utils package) and clicking your mouse in a
window.  It will give you output that includes a line like the following.

  xwininfo: Window id: 0x3e00142

You then pass the windowid to geistest or geisview using the '-w'
switch, as follows.

  geisview -w 0x3e00142

and perform gestures using your touchpad with the mouse cursor over the
selected window.
