I have the same bug.
Here are some data :
About the printer :
Epson Stylus DX7450 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.8-pre1 (color, 2-sided printing)

About the print job states :

Printing page 1, 17%
no profiles specified in PPD
Print file was not accepted.

u'cups-ipp-missing-validate-job']
Before I updgrade from Ubuntu 11.10 to 12.04, a useless password was
asked to print : I could enter anything, printing worked. Now, no
password is required but printing does not work.
