Public bug reported:

after you save one screenshot in another folder, then close the
application and take a screenshot it is not preselecting that folder,
and you end up having to navigating it to again

eventhough the last saved folder is recorded in dconf settings it is not
being used

this wasn't the case in Ubuntu 10.10
